Affectionately known as 'Wenty,' the Wentworthville Magpies have been a staple of the Intrust Super Premiership NSW since replacing NRL affiliate the Parramatta Eels in 2008. They took to the competition with immediate success, defeating Newtown 12-4 in an epic 104-minute Grand Final.

One of just two Intrust Super Premiership NSW clubs with significant junior bases, the Magpies contest all three senior NSWRL competitions on top of the Parramatta Junior Rugby League. With the Wentworthville club initially founded in 1913, it is also one of the most historic clubs in the competition and continues to draw a vocal crowd at home games at Ringrose Park.

Recent years have failed to bring success to the Magpies, with a wooden spoon in 2015 and a ninth-place finish last year. The upcoming season promises to be a bigger one, with many of last year's players staying on for a relatively consistent roster. Eels legend Nathan Cayless will get a full season as coach in 2017, where he will hope to restore glory to Wentworthville.
